Reha N. Tandogan, M.D. was born in 1962 in Ankara. He graduated from Hacettepe University Medical School in 1985 with honors, being 4th in his class. He underwent specialty training in Hacettepe University Medical School, Department of Orthopaedics & Traumatology, in Ankara. Dr. Tandogan worked as an assistant to Dr. Gerard Bascoulergue in the Arthroscopy and Sports Traumatology Clinic of Institut Calot (Berck, France) for a year in 1990.After completing residency training in 1991, he worked as an orthopaedic surgeon in the Ankara Social Security Teaching Hospital between 1992-1995. He trained with Dr. Robert W. Jackson, Baylor University, Dallas, Texas in 1993. He became an associate professor in 1995 and transferred to Baskent University, Dept. of Orthopaedics & Traumatology. He was appointed as the chairman of the department in 1998 and also undertook the duties of the chairman of the Sport Sciences department the next year. He became a professor in 2001. Dr. Tandogan has been in private practice in 2007.

Dr. Tandogan was given the International Arthroscopy Association Linvatec Award in 1995. He served three terms on the executive board of the Turkish Society of Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy & Knee Surgery, and is currently the president of the Ankara Branch. Dr. Tandogan is the author of three books on Knee Surgery. He has lectured extensively and published 57 scientific articles in international journals and 60 articles in the Turkish literature. Over 85 international citations have been made to these papers. Dr. Tandogan is currently on the editorial board of 5 national and 2 international peer reviewed journals. He has also served for 4 years as the founding editor of Journal of the Turkish Orthopaedics & Traumatology Association.
