Dr. Asım Kayaalp was born in 1962 in Besni/Adıyaman. He graduated from Ankara University Medical School in 1985. He completed his mandatory state service in the orthopedics & traumatology clinic of Gaziantep Social Security Hospital. He underwent residency training between 1987-1991 in Ankara Dışkapı Social Security Teaching Hospital and worked as an orthopaedic surgeon in the same clinic for 5 years. He attended various national and international educational activities during this period. He resigned from his post in 1996 and founded the orthopaedics & traumatology clinics of Gaziantep SANKO Hospital and Ankara Çankaya Hospital. He became the CEO and chief surgeon of Çankaya Hospital in 1998. He is currently chairman of the executive board of Çankaya Hospital and member of a 12 orthopaedic surgeon team. Dr. Kayaalp is also a consultant orthopaedic surgeon of Gaziantep SANKO Hospital and Istanbul Anadolu Group Hospital. Dr. Kayaalp is currently a board member of the Turkish Society of Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy and Knee Surgery and is vice president of its Ankara branch. He is an active instructor of arthroscopic surgery. Dr. Kayaalp has written several book chapters, journal articles and has lectured extensively both nationally & internationally.
